EMBELLISHMENTS-SOLDERING AND COLD CONNECTION TECHNIQUES

Cold connections allow breakables and fragile objects to be incorporated into settings. Different materials can have their own patina and finish combined in one piece. Components can be disassembled and changed.

Although the emphasis of this workshop is cold connections, soldering is involved in all of these processes to create sophisticated treatments beyond the traditional pushover bezel and prongs.

While Jan has developed these for enamels, any fragile or breakable object can use these alternate approaches.

This workshop is best utilized by someone with basic soldering and sawing and general metalworking skills.
